Executive Profiles
Michael
Jay Wolfe, President, has been involved in real estate his
entire life. He and his father were owner/operators of multiple-dwelling
buildings, and they personally managed all facets of their portfolio
-- from rent collection to repairs. With his father's guidance,
Michael learned plumbing, electricity, masonry, and how to maintain
the entire physical envelope and mechanical plant. At an early age,
he understood the ins and outs of building administration and systems.
In 1986, Michael joined Midboro. He became a partner in 1990 and
purchased the company in 1993 from his retiring partner, Robert
G. Mahler -- a founder of the company who shared his extensive knowledge
of the industry with Michael. Michael has received Gold Management
awards from Habitat Magazine, the "Special Award for
Excellence in Management" from the Association of Builders
and Owners of Greater New York, Inc. (ABO) and the Registered Apartment
Manager New York Chapter Board (RAM), and Midboro was named the
#1 mid-sized firm by The Cooperator. He is a licensed Real
Estate, Mortgage and Insurance Broker, a member of the Real Estate
Board of New York, and the Treasurer of the Association of Cooperative
and Condominium Managers.
Gary
Ziprin, Chief Financial Officer, manages a staff of seven
in Midboro's accounting department, and he carefully prepares and
reviews every building's annual operating budget. Gary graduated
from Lehman College with a BS in Accounting, and began his career
as a Certified Public Accountant. He has worked in co-op/condo management
since 1987.
Robert
D. Grant, Director, has been involved in real estate management
for twenty years. As former director of a mid size management firm,
he oversaw a portfolio that grew from 2,000 units to almost 5,000
units. This portfolio included shopping centers, mixed use buildings,
homeowner associations, cooperatives and condominiums such as an
811-unit, state-supervised Mitchell-Lama cooperative (managed for
the past nine years) and an 8-acre 504-unit gated cooperative in
Bayside. He is the recipient of two Platinum Awards ("Quality
of Life" and "Projects and Improvements") one Gold
Award ("Effective Management") and Certificates of Excellence
by Habitat Magazine. The Cooperator awarded him their "Leadership
in Management Award for the Year 2000." He has written many
articles that have been published in Real Estate Weekly, The Cooperator
and Habitat Magazine, and is frequently quoted as an industry expert
in The New York Times. In addition to his real estate license, he
is a licensed Real Estate Insurance (Property and Casualty) Broker
and holds a N.Y.C. Pool Operator's license.
